Scan QR Code

What are the QR codes for?

We take fact-checking very seriously. Each card contains a QR code which, when scanned, takes you to a website where you can easily check the legitimacy of a statement or obtain additional information about the topic on the card. Simply open the camera app and point it at a QR code for a few seconds, until it comes into focus — there's no need to take a photo.

How to play

Ask the team

To get your team in the mood, host a technology quiz at the beginning of your next meeting. Nominate a quiz master or take it in turns to ask the questions. Choose a difficulty level: 1) Easy: Ask the question and provide multiple choice answers, or 2) Hard: Ask the question only.

Did you know?

Share with your team little-known facts about technology. Ask one volunteer to read the fun facts aloud or take it in turns to read them. Give participants a few minutes to discuss the topic on the card. The topics are sure to spark laughs, surprises, and discussions.

Off the record

Funny conversation starters to spark some creative answers, get the group laughing and bring back some hilarious memories. Ask one question and then allow participants to think about it for one or two minutes. After that, answer the question one after the other.

FAQ

Is this game safe for work?

Yes, absolutely! We've been fortunate to be invited to do workshops at some fantastic companies, including startups, helping technical people create a fun and positive workplace atmosphere. We've worked with everyone from designers, engineers, and testers to product teams, managers and even CTOs, and have got to watch first hand as they play our game and have fun.

When to play this game in a meeting?

There are a few options:

  • At the beginning: These kinds of games are traditionally used to break the ice, inject some energy, put everyone present at ease and get people’s brains in a creative state before the meeting.
  • In the middle: A game to break up the intensity or monotony of a meeting will usually be most welcome by the team. This is a chance to take a break, pop the kettle on, drink a cup of tea or coffee, and then settle in for a quick game of Meeting Warm Up! Perfect for use midway through a workshop or sprint planning meeting.

What about virtual meetings?

Many activities you do offline work just fine in virtual meetings. This means that you can play this game in a virtual setting too. Try it yourself – start your next virtual meeting with an "Off the record" question.
